With February coming to a close so does a Month Of Donuts. Sadly our series didn’t exactly cover Dilla for the entire 29 days. Regardless I thank everyone that participated and in my eyes A Month Of Dilla is very much a success. The final article comes from DMV artist Obii Say who is a perfect wordsmith to end the series. Last night Jesse Boykins III premiered his latest video “B4 the Night is Thru” on BET’s 106 & Park in grand schwaza. The video is starring The Romantic Movement (i.e. MeLo-X, Street Etiquette, Mara Hruby, Chris Turner and others). Produced by MachineDrum, the song is the lead single off his highly anticipated LP “Love Apparatus”; single currently available for download on ITUNES. The video was filmed at A Noble Savage headquarters in Brooklyn.

I thought the way STS marketed this project was pretty dope. Instead of dropping a single, he went the strictly video route giving the masses just snippets of the music. After releasing 10 vids he finally let loose Gold Rush. I also love the concept of flipping top 40 records and adding the Sugar Tongue Slim spin to it.
